OK - the dreaded boogie sucker

Do you just stick it there and hope for the best or is there a trick to it?? I'm petrified to us it but he's so congested!

I have given up on that - Nick screams bloodly murder if I even come close to him with that thing.

Re: OK - the dreaded boogie sucker

When Hayley was in the NICU they told me to use some saline drops first to help loosen it up. Then make sure you cover one nostril while you are sucking out the other one. I think Hayley is very congested but her Dr said even if there was 1 boogie in her nasal passages, it sounds worse than it really is. When she was in NICU the nurse got so much out, I have not been so lucky. I just try once or twice a day to help relieve some of it.

Good luck!

That thing grosses me out. I just use my little nail to get the little boogies out of his nostrils.

Me too, DH hates that I am always doing that, but I can't stand the boogies.

My niece loves it too, starts smiling and giggling like crazy from it.

I haven't used it on Emily yet. How do I know if she needs it?

Re: OK - the dreaded boogie sucker

Marissa hated it when she was a baby but now loves it.

THe thing with that is to squeeze it first then put it in the nostril and then release it so it sux out the boogies. I learned this the hard way I would put it in at first squeeze it then let it s*ck the boogies out well what a can I say I am a first time mom and I didn't know how to use that thing. Also the saline drops are a big help as well it lossens everything up

Jake kinda likes it too!! It's the funniest thing - he braces himself for it and holds his breath, then breaths out a huge sigh of relief whens it's over... but he's got a smile on his face the whole time! Chat Icon
