here you go this is what i wrote to b103 about LIFAMILIES:
My name is Janet , a single mom, on workers comp and this is my story.

On March 17, 2006, my husband suffered a massive stroke. 3 days later he had a second one. On March 26, 2006 he pass away. He was 34 and his name is Keith.

Just the day before this happened, our house got condemned due to mildew and mold. We where told to get out in 24 hours. Well that is when LIFAMILIES and a GREAT number of special girls took over and did the job of pure angels.

The site www.lifamilies.com is a chat site I belonged to for a while. The sister site www.liweddings.com I used for planning my wedding. The owner Ron Jacobs, His wife Liz,and the staff came to my side and never left it.

Ron posted on the board as to keep the girls updated on what was going on everyday for a week and a half. The support I received was soooooooo over whelming, I could never ever in a million years thanks everyone. Then I heard about this and I thought this could be a great start.

In May, Ron, Liz, the staff of lifamilies/weddings and the girls of the board put together a fundraiser for my daughter(now 12) and I at Chateau La Mer. The staff there and the owner donated the whole night, including the staff time. This was a night of great honor for me to see how many true people are still out there. That night $25,000 plus was raised to help start the rebuild of not only my house but my life as well.

As time went on I had some very supportive girls that have been and will always be a family to me. Christina , Kristin,Jenn and many others. They have gone over and beyond the call of a friend let alone a stranger.
They not only made sure I ate and took care of myself, but listened to me and helped me in so many different ways. These girls have be come such a big part of my life I do not know where I would be! I am forever grateful. They pulled all resources to help get volunteers to help with the house rebuilding and to raise money.

In Sept. the walls started coming down. Girls from the site and there husbands came one day and in that day manage to rip all the walls down and clean out everything. It was an amazing feeling. Now the house is nearly done and I should be in by Dec. They all did this out of sheer love and kindness.

Then while I am going through this nightmare. Another girl from my site, Deb Gino, suffered from a server form of cancer and is now undergoing treatment and yet once again the LIfamily has come together to do the same for her and her family. She was pregnant when she found this out. They delivered her baby boy and he is doing good(with some medical problems though good)Deb lost her job and her husband has been trying to work, take care of Deb and the baby , with med bills piling up Christina Mena goes full force and with the help of the same girls mentioned above and the owners of Lif, they had a fundraiser for Deb and her family and again raised $25,000 plus.

I am so privileged to be apart of an amazing family. We all pull together for one another and yet half of us have never meet in person. If you go to the www.lifamilies.com site and look under fundraiser(in the search) you can pull up a lot of the info to see for yourself how wonderful this family is.

I know this is meant for a person of the week but I have soooo many that did soooo much that I could never pick out just one. I also have the flyer from my fundraiser and the daily log Ron kept for me. I can forward all this if you would like in an email.

So in short the people I would like to thank most are:
On a Personal level:
Christina , Kristin , Barbra and many others to many to list
On a business level:
Ron and Liz Jacobs(and staff of Lif)

As if it was not for them I would not be half the person I am now.

Thank you for listening, Janet Orlando
