ok amateur cook here (shameless excitement for myself)NOW W/ RECIPES
and I made "Carne Asada" with homemade guacamole a little while ago and let me tell you, it was damnnnnnn good, I'm really proud of myself! I have zero confidence when it comes to cooking, but I force myself to try whatever recipe interests me. Hey my grandmothers and mother are awesomeeeeeee cooks so maybe some of it rubbed off on me? I hope so!
ETA Thanks girlies....I added the recipe for both the meat and the guacamole....ENJOY!

Re: ok amateur cook here (shameless excitement for myself)
sure! here's the recipe, enjoy everyone:
carne asada: 2 boneless beef loin (strip steaks-1 1/4lb) 2 tsp ground cumin 2 cloves of garlice minced 2 lime wedges
combine cumin and garlic and press onto the beef steaks, place them on the grill (i used the george foreman bc i live in apt w/o bbq...but they still came out awesome) Grill uncovered for 15 to 18 min for med rare to med doneness turning occassionally.
then squeeze lime wedges over steaks. carve steaks and season w salt. serve w the homemade guacamole (serves 2 to 4)
guacamole: 2 2/3 ripe avocados, peeled and seeded 2/3 tsp cumin 2/3 med roma tomato (seeded and diced) 1/3 cup minced white sweet onion 1/6 cup chopped cilantro leaves 2 2/3 tbsp fresj lime juice hot pepper, salt and pepper to taste
cut avocado in large chuncks and mash coarsely in large bowl with a fork. Add remaining ingredients and blend gently-leaving small chunks is fine. Taste and adjust seasoning with more hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper if desired.
