not so much.
imo - its more the akwardness of having no pants on and someone near your privates.
take an advil 1/2 hr before you go - and just do it! you will not regret it.

no - i dont. some places give you this paper "thong" thing to put on - but i dont even bother.
seriously the first time you go it is strange - but gets better with each visit.

honestly.. it hurts, but the second they pull the strip away the pain is over. it's pain for a split second.... If you think to much about it before you do it you will psych yourself out and tense up when you finally get the nerve to go through with it.
It is 100% worth it!!!!

It really depends on who is doing it. I had it done at Pilo Arts in Bay Ridge and it was good, then at Completely Bare in Scarsdale and it was also good. (good meaning it hurt but they were snappy about it and it wasn't really excruciating)
2 days before my wedding I got it done at a glorified nail salon that wanted to be called a spa and it was a disaster. It took so long, she didn't really have a process, and it hurt so bad I almost stopped her halfway through. I was so sore when it was over.
I would make sure to go to a spa place and not just any old waxing place.

OMG This happened to me too! The one thing i forgot before my wedding so I had it done at one of the salons. The WORST experience of my life. I did stop her before she was finished..I couldn't deal with the slowness. You want someone that is going to do huge chunks-3 or 4 rips at the most. Also if you go for full brazilian it is only the "front" that really hurts. Also I always wore my underwear-you just pull it up and in

I have had it done only in the Spa (I used to go to Rain Day Spa in Woodbury, NY) and I also had it done at J Sisters in Manhattan and they were great. Both times I kept the 'wear on and just shifted it.

Its not too bad, like someone said earlier take an advil 30 mins before
it lasts a few weeks depending on the person
IMO its so worth it!

I had it done once. I almost died it was so painful. I was swollen for days - it was terrible.
I am starting to think either I am really sensitive (I bleed when I get my eyebrows waxed so I had to switch to threading), or I had a really sucky waxer. Either way I am not sure I will ever build up the nerve to do it again.

In all honesty, yes. Especially the first time. I took some Advil about 30 minutes prior to my appointment. I went every month and the pain got less each time. I haven't gone in a while, but I remember it being worth it.

I have only done it twice bc of the pain. Maybe I am just a wimp, but it freakin hurts. Both times I wore nothing on bottom - i wasnt offered anything. As soon as the first rip you don't care that you are half naked anymore.
I went to Dorit Baxter and Completely Bare in NYC. Both places were good.

I go to J'aime Spa (also known as J'adore Spa - Daily Candy wrote them up). I see Rachel - she's great. Not too painful (I second the advil!) and $30.

I just had it done for about the 6th time and it still hurts. yes i am pg so that area is more sensitive, but it does hurt. but i will continue to do it b/c i like the results.

I did it once right before the wedding....
I went to Bliss Spa in NYC -- I highly recommend it! They use a different kind of wax there that just pulls the hair (not the skin). It was embarrassing... they only give you a paper thong to wear, but it was worth it! It did hurt while she was doing it, but the pain is fleeting. Also, I have SUPER sensitive skin and I didn't have any soreness or irritation afterward.
I just moved to San Diego and they don't have a Bliss Spa here... now I'm scared to go somewhere else for the waxing! But I don't think I could go back to shaving!

I go to this Spa as well and use Natasha. She if fabulous and the price is right. I highly recommend them. As everyone else has stated it gets easier each time. Take a couple of advil before you go. Oh and as for the undies, do whatever you are comfortable with...personally I don't wear them during.

not that bad. vicodin really helps. 
i made a BIG mistake of going once a day before AF w/ no pain meds, HUGE mistake
just make sure you DO NOT go a week before or after aunt flo and take some type of pain killer (OTC or prescription) a half hour before the appointment.
