I usually get a recipe off Ronzoni.com.

I cook a box of ziti, then take an egg, whisk it, take a large container of ricotta, some mozzarella, some parmesan, a splash of milk, some salt and pepper, some parsley and mix. Then when the ziti is done cooking, I mix everything together. It's really super easy!

its really easy!! i make one off of kraft.com all the time..
its just some ricotta, some mozz, a little water or milk, and a jar of sauce all mixed together. when the ziti is done cooking, i dump the cheese and sauce mixture into the ziti and mix it all up. then, put it in a baking dish to bake it for about 30 minutes or so.... yummy!

Either one of the above recipes works and just add a pound of cooked chopmeat to it.

SO easy! Cook 1 box of ziti. Dump it into a rectangle pan. Mix ricotta cheese (about 1/2 a container) with some shredded mozzerella cheese (the pre-shredded bags work great!)
Mix that in with the cooked ziti.
You can add ground beef, if you want, you dont have to. Bake that in a 350 oven until the cheese gets bubble (30-40 min?) then sprinkle parmasean over the top and enjoy!

you can add stuff to the ziti, like sausages, some veggies (sliced mushrooms are good, cut up zuccinis are good. or whatever you have - you can hide a bunch of veggies inside Ziti)

All of the recipes above sound great. The only suggestion I would make is, if you are going to bake it or re-heat it, under cook your pasta by a few minutes.

I layer everything.
Sauce
Noodles
Mixture of Ricotta, Eggs, Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Onion, Parmesan Cheese-add ground meat to this if you want
Mozzarella (cut down from block)

Do that about 3 times and cook for 1 hour at 350 degrees

I would also coat the top of the ziti with mozzarella before baking... yum!

I usually mix all of the ingredients together, then add the cooked ziti and mix it together again. Pour in a baking dish, top with more shredded mozz and parmesan cheese and bake. My family tends to like it better than the layered version.

Re: OK, how the heck do I make Ziti?

i fry up the meat , then drain it. cook the pasta & drain that .
after everything is cooled down I take a large bowl mix the meat, sauce , ricotta, mozarella & grated cheese all together , i then add the pasta to this & bake it for another 45 min. covered with alumin foil,, let it sit for 10 min

thanks for all the great ideas! I feel more confident now!

I plan to make it on saturday, but refrigerate it and bake it on sunday.

Re: OK, how the heck do I make Ziti?

do not cover with foill you would steam it..let it sit on counter for like 10-15 mins then bake on 350 until center is hot when a knife is inserted and cheese melted-if cheese browns too quickly as its just starting to brown then lightly tent with foil--and I mean lighty--=so steam can escape the sides.
