OK, I really think my 9 month old is transitioning to one nap

She gets up at around 7ish every day...I've tried putting her down at 9, 9:30 etc....and it'll take me good half hour before she falls asleep and then only sleep for a half hour!!! This nap NEVER used to be a problem before....her afternoon naps are around 1.30-2hrs!!!! HELP

Is she teething at all? Reilly did something similar a couple of months ago and I thought she was boycotting her morning nap but I just kept putting her down at 9am and then eventually 9:30am. Once in a while she takes a super short nap but most days she takes at least an hour. I would keep putting her down and leave her in the crib for at least one hour even if she is awake the whole time. Chat Icon HTH!

I don't think she's teething...I've left her in her crib where she literally will babble and whine for an hour and it did nothing!!Chat Icon

9 months is around the age both of my girls transitioned to one nap!

I remember is being 3 then went to 2 and then to 1!

I would try to put my DD down to sleep and she wasn't having it - it was almost like she outgrew that nap!

DS went to one nap at about that age. I actually kind of made it that way but for me it was easier. I try to be out and about in the morning and he would only nap at home. So he started napping 2-3 hours straight.

DS started taking one nap per day at 10 months. It is possible.

Sabrina transitioned around that age, too. Sorry. But maybe her one nap will get longer...

Thanks ladies, well I think it is the transition, she went to nap today at 12 and slept until 2...so a solid 2 hour nap...My mom said that I transitioned at that age too so I guess it's in the genes...Chat Icon
