Ok. I think it's safe to say I love my D60.
I haven't read the manual, I was just shooting and playing... But come on, look at that punim!!!
I can't wait to see what else I can do with this camera. Can it erase drool?
For reference, below is a similar pic I took with my Canon PowerShot a couple of days ago.

ha-- it is a bit cumbersome though, but when she starts crawling around and stuff and I can get better pics, as opposed to her proped up on a couch. Those get a little old

what does that do-- and does it clip on to the camera-- or do you have to hold it?

okay, i did a quick search and came up with this link that explains flash a bit. it's an older article, but if you scroll down a bit you see 3 photographs that illustrate bounced flash vs. direct flash. to bounce the flash you need a speedlight for starters...

I was going to write this! You will be amazed at the difference once you get one. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get one! The hash shadow you have around her chin wouldn't be there with the speedlight.
Drool is easy to get rid of!

cannon its a speedlite, Nikon its a speedlight.
I have an SB-600 speedlight for my Nikon. I love it!! Its costs about $250.
here is a comparison shot I did afor a friend a few months back (she bought the speedlight that night I showed her this)
Sorry that so small, I took it off my facebook, I can't find where I saved it on my computer, but you can still get the idea from it.
I also blogged about my speedlight the day I got it. I did a few quick comparison pictures:

this is why people say photography is an expensive hobby!
So, the speedlight thing would be the macroflash?

what a difference! Love those pics of the kids on the bed!
ok, so I need one of these things, but I seriously cannot justify spending even more money. The ink is still wet on the credit card slip from the camera!

I love my D60. I haven't done a photo shoot in a while, but I have gotten some really beautiful shots of her with it.

So, the speedlight thing would be the macroflash? i don't quite understand the macroflash reference in the link, but yes, it's the speedlight you want. find out which one from a nikon user
the thing you want to remember about bouncing with flash is you want to bounce off a white surface or else your photos will have a slightly different color to them. unless you shoot in RAW format, but that's a WHOLE other can of worms...
i pretty much only shoot RAW on manual mode. i try to use natural light, and will never use the built in flash...once you get used to the external flash, the built in one will hurt your eyes!
