Since I found out yesterday we are having a Girl. I need to know

1. What diaper Brand Pampers?
2. Best outfits for them when they are born or what did you dress them in??

She will be born in June so any May June moms please help out. I can already see myself going crazy buying a ton of clothes. so the stuff that really worked please let me know.

Ps any other advise would be great too

Thanks so much

Re: ok moms of Girls!! I have some questions

We used Pampers Swaddlers and now Pampers Cruisers.

Kaydyn lived in onesies the first couple of weeks. They were the easiest to deal with when changing/feeding...etc. We started putting her in those one piece sleepers at about 2 weeks or so when we started going out.

I have 2 girls and like pampers and LUVS the best, but it is personal choice. Some people I know who have girls loves Huggies. I would try out a few when she arrives.

DD#2 was born at the end of June. I mostly put her in short-sleeved onesies and light pants.

Good Luck

Congrats!! Chat Icon

DD was born in June. We are a Pampers family, first swaddlers and now she's in Cruisers. I find they work great. At night she wears Huggies Overnights.

I had a whole nice fancy outfit to bring her home in the hospital in, but wound up not putting her in it since it was pretty hot the day I brought her home. She just wore a little fancy onesie, pants, and socks and then I put a light blanket over her.

I found most of the summer she spent in onesies and pants. Carters makes great cotton stretchy pants that worked great. She also wore a lot of little cotton dresses. Again, all from Carters.

Again, congrats on your little girl and let me know if you have any more questions.

I swore by Swaddlers then moved on to Luvs...we loved the Carters sunsuits and creepers with the ruffle the first summer...you can find the summer sunsuits in Costco usually around March/April/May for a good price

We used pampers. First swaddlers then baby dry. For some reason, I found that the cruisers had like a "gel" in them and I didn't like it.
As for clothes, I had mostly comfy outfits. I just couldn't see putting a newborn in lace and stuff. She was born in June so I had some simple one piece outfits for outdoors and she wore alot of long sleeves and pants indoors since we have central a/c. Good luckChat Icon

Re: ok moms of Girls!! I have some questions

Hi...congratulations!
I have two girls and the little one was born in May.

As for diapers, I've always used Pampers: Swaddlers and now Cruisers.

If I were you, I would not register for many clothes or onesies. People LOOOVE to shop for little girls and you will get a TON of clothing--probably a lot of which she will never wear. I would say people were even crazier for my 2nd since they have so many adorable summer baby girl clothes in the stores. She got tons of dresses which were beautiful, but not necessarily practical. As someone else mentioned, onesies are great for summertime. I also loved those little one-piece romper type things (I can't think of a better way to describe them Chat Icon).

Good luck!!

Re: ok moms of Girls!! I have some questions

I like Pampers Swaddlers and Huggies. Someone gave us a package of Luvs and I hated them.

I dressed my DD in outfits every day, but I'm a little crazy. Normal people dress their newborns in one piece stretchie pajamas and onesies... things that are comfortable and easy to remove since you're changing 329874238974 diapers a day in the beginning.

For me, no one bought me onesies even though I registered for them. Everyone bought me clothes. I didn't need to buy DD anything for the first 4 months of her life... and most of what she wore back then was only worn once or twice because we were given SOOO MUCH and she grew so quickly.

I have been and always be a pampers fan...I have two DDs...

I did like the Huggies Newborn, but they both grew out of them really fast. I was on Swaddlers for a while, then switched to Baby Dry.

Huggies ALWAYS LEAKED!!

As for clothes, I had a July baby...lots of onesies!!! I had a cute little dress type onesie to bring home DD#1...I bought matching outfits for my DD's when DD#2 came home...a little skits with a tank top...it was huge on her though!!!

Re: ok moms of Girls!! I have some questions

I like pampers swaddlers sensitive because they have they wetness indicator down the front (changes color if she pees.)

I have only "dressed" my DD a few times. She is a winter baby, so we don't go out that much, but I also find that the first month is awkward for fitting into clothes. NB fit her for 2 or 3 weeks and 0-3 is still a little too big, so pants look gigantic on her.Chat Icon Little cardigan sweaters, however, are sooooo cute at this stage.

Re: ok moms of Girls!! I have some questions

Well, I'm going to be a 2 times June mom with 2 girls. So feel free to FM me with a million questions if you have them.

Honestly Pampers worked for us - BUT and I stress this - it really seems to depend on the baby so I wouldn't stock up on too many too soon.

We used pampers swaddlers in the hospital and when DD came home. This time around I would like to try some pampers sensitive. They worked great in the beginning, then DD started to poop out the back and legs. We tried going up a size, and that didn't work. So we switched to baby dry (pampers) and although I didn't really like them all that much they worked for DD. I never tried any other brands so I can't say if they are better or worse. So we used the baby dry for a while - then had the same problem again so we switched to cruisers and have been fine every since.

I would get maybe one box or bag of size one swaddlers (the hospital will probably give you newborn if you need them - ours gave us size 1 to start since DD was 9lbs 4ozs). Then you can see if you like them and go from there.

Clothes. Well this is honestly a very personal thing. It was really hot the summer we had DD - and we have window units which isn't a cool as say central air. I used a lot of onesies when we were home. For walks or when we went outside - I had a couple one piece outfits that have spaggatti straps that kind of bubble (not sure what they are called) but they were very cool and comfortable. I also had a couple of dresses that were easy to get her in and out of. Just keep whatever you do get simple and not too many buttons in the back or too complicated. Others were told different things - but my ped told me to dress her as I would myself no extra layers. I would get some outfits that are a little warmer for the air conditioner and some cool outfits for walks or the hot weather.

Etd to add carters now has some really nice on sale onesies that are really cute with frills or animals on the butts - they are button down the front which makes them VERY easy for changes. Also they sell onesies that look like dresses from the front - they are very cool and easy to change.

Congratulations on your little girl! Chat Icon

DD was a July baby and came home in a very simple cotton (but very cute) outfit. We loved carters at that stage - mostly onesies with matching pants (with the AC on and visitors always coming). We got TONS AND TONS of little girl clothing - had a few outfits of our own already washed and ready for her to wear.

We started out with pampers swaddlers - used pampers for a few months and switched to target brand. The target brand has always worked very well for us and never an issue with leaking or rash.

Lots of luck - girls are so much fun Chat Icon

We used Pampers swaddlers when DD was first born.

Since she was born in the winter, she lived in footed sleep and plays for the first month. We then moved into onsies with pants, like Carter's sets.

Re: ok moms of Girls!! I have some questions

Emerson uses Pampers Swaddlers. Here's the deal with clothes........

1) You won't believe how many outfits you're going to get when she's born. We got a ton of clothes for Emerson.....people LOVE buying girl stuff!

2) Don't go crazy with a ton of cutesy outfits. I loved the idea of putting her in all these cute clothes but in the early weeks and months onesies ruled!! They were easy and comfy and since we didn't take her out much I didn't see the need to dress her up. However........at 4 months she is now getting all stylish and cutesy but we take her out a lot now too. Chat Icon
