Sorry ladies-- just need to vent a bit more. I'm over 17 days from my D&C and I'm still bleeding/spotting. I took an ovulation test on Friday because I sort of felt ovulation pains (or just cramping) and it came up as a strong positive. As I have done a lot of reading, I knew that the ovulation test could be picking up pregnancy hormone-- so I bought a pregnancy test. Took it this morning and yup, still very positive on there too. GRRR. So very frustrated. I would REALLY like my body to get back to normal so I can get AF and begin to track and plan and TTC again.

I assume I need a negative HPT before I can ovulate, and before I can get AF etc. ? anybody know if that is true? I had a follow up on Friday, but my dr. didnt say anything so I assume everything is going along "fine". I truly want all my levels to return to normal (and I thought they had considering sore boobs stopped probably 12 days ago!) but obviously that is not the case.

I guess no real answers, just wondering if anybody else had positive HPT (we have not BDd so I know I'm not newly pregnant) for this long and/or continued to bleed.

I feel like I'm completely wonky and it makes me sad :(

It's hard to move on when your body isn't cooperating. Hang in there!!

Have they checked your HCG levels to see how they are lowering? I just scheduled my follow up appointment and need to find out when and how frequently they will be checking my HCG levels. When I miscarried on my own in April I had to go in once a week until the level dropped below zero.

I'm sorry this horrible process is really getting dragged out for you :(.

I know it's hard but as PP said, you should really have your HCG levels monitored. After both of my MC's it took about 3-4 weeks to get my period after my levels dropped to 0. Did the doctor say anything about the fact you are still bleeding? It's very hard to not think about things when there is a physical reminder everyday.Chat Icon hang in there.

Dr. checked my cervix at my appointment I beleive and didnt say anything (I was too busy asking my list of other questions so he never said "everything looks oks" or "its not ok" --- guess he would have said something if it wasnt)-- he has said in the past that bleeding up to 4 weeks is normal and nobody was concerned about the fact that I still was at my appointment.

As for checking my levels, they did not do a blood test....I gave a urine sample and I think the nurse did a pregnancy test (she had what sort of looked like a wondfo in her hand) --- but nobody said anything to me about it (whcih is why I did one on my own after doing the ovulation test was positive)! I guess they arent concerned if it was still positive? but if that's the case, why test at all?! I truly just hope this doesnt mean that I'm one of the (un)lucky ones that has to wait many many weeks to get AF ..........on top of it, my mother keeps telling me I'm reading too much online and just need to let nature do what its going to do--- while part of me gets that view, and I realize there's probably nothing I can do to change my situation, it is so hard for me not to have answers as to what's going on! I guess I'll give myself another 2 weeks to see if I test negative etc. and then bug my dr.....fun times. The New Year better be better!

My HCG levels were at 195,000 when I had my d&C. It took about 4 1/2 weeks for me to get a negative pregnancy test and I got AF just about a week later. I feel like I ovulated while I had a super super faint BFP. It took a week or so for the tests to go completely negative once they got really light. My OB never monitored my levels either I just took it upon myself to take a wondfo once or week or so to track the progression. I am so sorry you are going through this. I know how frustrating the process can be! Chat Icon

After both miscarriages, my doctor had me go for bloodwork 4 weeks after the start of the miscarriage to make sure hcg levels were back to zero. Both times they were down to zero by 4 wks. So sorry for ur loss :(

Thanks ladies-- I hope you all had a nice New Year! About 3.5 weeks since the D&C and still have some bleeding/spotting and still have the positive pregnancy test. Your stories helped me be a bit less worried about the positive pregnancy test since 4 weeks or more seems to be on the safe side of normal (the test was a bit lighter this morning than last week but still not a squinter - i do hope that it doesnt meant i will get AF 4-6 weeks from when it is finally negative though!)....the continued bleeding is still bothering me since that does not seem to be so normal (and I continue to have what feels like cramps off and on) but I dont want to bug my dr. so I will just see what happens, I guess. I'll give it some time. This has been the LONGEST 3.5 weeks of my life, lol - need to stop obsessing :)

I truly appreciate you all sharing your stories-- knowing that I'm not crazy for still thinking about the miscarriage or worrying about every little symptom really helps. MANY MANY THANKS!

I ovulated when my hcg was somewhere around 30. It's possible under 50. Only knew because my ob saw I was about to ovulate when he did a sono and then did bloodwork to check. I also have a few unopened boxes of organic red raspberry leaf tea if you want it free. If so message me.
