Ok so I bought the summer handheld and I have a few ques. - Updated one more
How do you keep from having the picture screen turn off after one minute???

Re: Ok so I bought the summer handheld and I have a few ques.
Ours is positioned on top of her dresser (the way top) and it look sdown on her entire crib.
I also was concerned about the green light, so I covered it with a small piece of black electrical tape....did the trick!

Up until this week ours was on top the crib with a small piece of velcro, but DS has decided to pull it off and drop it on the floor, so now it is on his dresser facing down in to his crib. I have seen people put in on the wall facing down into the crib too. Never had a problem with the green light

When my DS was a infant I placed it on the crib I have a covertable crib( ledge is big)
Now I have it up on the wall. My crib is close to the corner of the room.

I built a little shelf for it in the corner of his wall above his crib. He has a huge sleigh crib so he can only see the monitor when he stands up and looks over the side - sometimes he talks to it but otherwise he ignores it. The way it is angled I can see the entire interior of his crib.

Same here. He moves ALL over the crib and has done so since day 1. Having a look down on the entire crib has been awesome!
As for the green light: Around 8 months we began talking to him about the light. We told him he didn't need to cry, that all he had to do was look right into the light and ask for us. Within a week he was getting as close as he could into the monitor and whispering 'Mama? Dada?'
Once we woke up from his voice we would turn on the video portion and see his face, as close as he could get, staring right at us.  The green light also serves well as a nightlight as he gets older.
