Isn't it obvious?

I know that they say 6 months for sunscreen and that would be the obvious answer to when you can take them in the water at the beach... but that seems like a long time for water.

When did you take your baby into the water, be it a pool or the beach??

I dont have an answer about the water - but I asked my dr. about the sunscreen because we are taking Cailen to the folk festival when he is 4 mts

He said that sunscreen is always better than sunburn, as long as there is nothing in it - like Arbonne baby care... but he warned that sunscreen can give parents a false sense of security, so he is wary about okay-ing sunscreen on young babies for that reason. He said that they should always be in the shade as much as possible...

My ped said any age is fine really. Just not during the day when the sun is strong. When we went to visit family, I took her in the an indoor pool so I didn't have to worry about the sun. She really had no reaction to it! We went to the pool today, but she just sat with me in the shade. I can't wait until next Summer when she can float around in a little boat Chat Icon

We took DS in a pool on July 3rd, when he was 9 weeks old. My ped told me "off the record" that I could use Waterbabies SPF 50 on him.

We've taken him to the beach in Montauk and to a family member's pool. We are planning on taking him in again at the end of hte month when we go to Florida (he will be 3 months old)

SafeTswim starts classes at 2 months- so I would imagine as early as that.

That's what I'm waiting for......
