Ok, tell me this trip won't kill me

In 19 days we are leaving for DH's family reunion. It is in St. George Island, Florida. DH's grandma rent a MASSIVE house and everyone stays there.

Everyone is SO excited to meet Christopher, but I am really nervous about sharing space with 22 other (me, DH and DS make 25) people with an unpredicable infant. We are sharing a room with two sets of bunk beds and a crib with my SIL, BIL and neice (an aunt is bringing a porta crib for us) and he definately wakes up still....

I am a little freaked about packing up everything I need. And I am nervous about finding Gentlease if I need more (I hear babies eat more on vaca for some reason) because the house is in the middle of no where. Maybe I should ask one of DH's aunts to drive up a can from Tampa to have extra...

I am just having anxiety, and I am sure it will be fun once we get there, but it is psyching me out right now!Chat Icon

I'm sure it will be great. The sleeping arrangement is all that maybe worries me a little. Is there no way for you and DH to get your own room at night? Hopefully BIL and SIL will sleep through his wakings. Chat Icon Don't stress and have a great time.

Well, my neice is 20 months old and teething...I am actually more worried about them waking each other upChat Icon

It is a nice room, just kind of an odd set up...I think we will all be sleepless though.

I would be nervous too- we have one of those trips in August but DD is older and just started sleeping through the night. I would pack a can of gentlease in your luggage- just to be on the safe side- They eat more on the planes, not on vacation really just to reassure you.

Have fun and don't stress too much- for every trip DD has surprised me how she has adapted and we took A LOT of trips.Chat Icon

Oh that's not bad then. I guess I assumed that you're niece was older. They're both young, it will be fine. Don't stress.

I could see why you're nervous with that many people. Remember the most people understand that babies are unpredictable & cry.

I hope he surprises you & is the perfect angel.

Can you pack extra formula just in case? I would bring two full cans.

Think of all the people as extra hands to help. Hey you will probably get MORE sleep on vacation!!

It will be fun...Dont forget it's CHRISTMAS IN JULY too....What bats that? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Can I tell you I STILL don't know what outfit she is talking about??

Ok, thank you for the reassurance ladies...I really appreciate it.

Now, my latest worry is the fact that the bedroom is 4 floors away from where we will be hanging out, so I think I am going to bring my monitors in my checked luggage. I am thinking of putting it in a big ziplock and labeling it "BABY MONITOR" if my bag gets opened of the wiresChat Icon

Your list looks great. What about diaper cream and mylicon? And your camera? You may not need that on the list, but I always put everything on so I don't forget. Chat Icon

Your list looks great!

Just be careful with the diaper cream and putting it in your carry on...there is a limit on the size. Of course I had my hand lotion burried in the diaper bag and no one said a word!
