Okay, NOW I need to say something!
I'm sooo pizzed now.....
Last week, I posted about how I'm planning a baby shower for my sister and her friend that is helping (decorations and favors... I'm PAYING for the entire thing) thanks ME for helping HER. So, after I calmed down and gave the benefit of the doubt that she may not have realized what she said or how she said it, I get another email from her today, and at the end she said: "I feel like I should be thanking YOU for taking the initiative to START planning the shower"
Ummmmmmmmmm...WHAT??????????
I'm someone who tends to shy away from conflict, but I think I need to set the record straight here, somehow...nicely and politely. Good thing I'm the one doing the invites! How can I nicely put her in her place??

This is what I plan on doing....I hate conflict, and don't want my sister to hear about us 'not getting along'.. she doesn't need the stress.
I just can't get over the nerve....my sister, my little nephew on the way...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

What you should say is that, I am sorry if you are confused, but I have been thinking about and planning this shower for months in honor of my sister... I appreciate all of the help you are providing, but-- and don't take this the wrong way-- I am hosting this for my sister and it is something that I always planned to do. I am welcome to any ideas, if you and other girls want to do something special, I would love to collaborate with you-- but please check with me to see what I have planned beforehand..
Not worded the best-- but, you get the idea...
What this girl is smoking is beyond me--

I would do the invite thing and in your responses I would refer to yourself as the one throwing the shower as often as possible. "I am so glad I decided to throw this shower for my sister. I am so glad that I chose to throw it at such and such a place. I knew from the beginning that I would be the one throwing a shower for my sister and am touched by the support I have gotten from her friends . . ." I don't know how tactful I could be in this situation. This is YOUR sister, and although she has this friend and it's nice she wants to help, she needs to be made aware that she is not THROWING this . . .

If she never offered to help pay she never offered to host, that would be my explaination if/when she asks about the invitation wording. And then kill her with kindness by telling her how much her help has meant to you. If she ever says that line about your help again, just respond by telling her the same thing back, that her helping you host this shower has been wonderful as well.
She knows what shes doing...proly jusy used to gettign away with it and being a little snot.

umm you need to put her in her place, and NOW! she is way out of line.
I would tell her "you must be mistaken, don't be silly! I should be the one thanking you for helping me plan my sister's shower!"
