OK....oddball NICU question
If baby boy does decide to come early as I previously posted, and he ends up in the NICU for a while....I just had a thought cross my mind. Do they provide the diapers, onsies, and blankets while the baby is staying there, or will I have to purchase and bring those items separately??? Ughh, just another thing to think about. Sorry, if it seems like a silly question---but I really have no idea what the answer is.
BUT, on a nice note....I ended up doing the hospital tour since I was up in L & D for my Beta shot anyway, and ALL of the rooms are private....whether I'm in the "birthing suite" or staying before/after the baby is born. So, that was an "good" piece of news. And the NICU is gorgeous! The nurses were fantastic (already trying to ease my mind, and I'm not on official labor patient just yet). But, they were also trying to be optimistic in telling me that hopefully I won't need them and I'll be "subjected to the regular nursery nurses" We'll see. <fingers crossed>

Re: OK....oddball NICU question
Yes, the NICU provides everything including emotion support. My son was in there for 4days and I must say that the nurses were the best. Even though it was about 8 babies inside, they treat you child as if he/she is the only. It takes a special person to work in the NICU.

Re: OK....oddball NICU question
They provide everything -- and NICU nurses are amazing!
My DS was in the NICU for a week, and I work in a hospital so I know that it truly takes a special person to be a NICU nurse. They are great resources for a new parent!

As long as your baby is in the hospital, NICU or not, they provide everything he'll need.
