Re: Ok....potty seat v. potty chair
i'm all about the seat. that way you don't have to transition again later on and who wants to clean the mess of a a chair. josh gets a kick out of sitting on the same potty as we do too. i have one that has handles for him to hold and a little splash guard for me.

Re: Ok....potty seat v. potty chair
I don’t know what’s better for a boy, and I haven’t tried potty training to know which is better in a practical sense…but I want to try to get DD to use just a seat on the regular toilet instead of a little potty chair…the thing about having to clean pee & poop out of the little chair really grosses me out deters me from that, I think I would gag each time. Plus, I have no room in my tiny bathroom for a separate potty chair.

Re: Ok....potty seat v. potty chair
I did a little of both!! First his own chair to get used to seeing it! This way I could ask all the time "Do you need to go potty?"! The big potty was a little scary at first! Then we eventually moved onto the seat because when you are out the foldable seat works great!!!
We just bought Matty his first chair-he uses it to throw his bean bags in!!!!

Re: Ok....potty seat v. potty chair
We use the seat and DS really like using the toilet like Mommy and Daddy. And actually, now he prefers to stand when he pees....just like Daddy.

don't know for boys but we did the seat for the toilet - there was no way I was cleaning out a potty chair

Re: Ok....potty seat v. potty chair
DD would NOT go on the potty seat for a very long time, so we had to go with the potty chair. As soon as she became more comfortable with the seat (on the toilet) we then switched. No big deal.
