Old Wives tale re: heartbeat
What is it they say - the higher the heartbeat, the more it means a  or  ? What is the cutoff? Just curious. The heartbeat at my sono yesterday was 160.

They say the higher the heartbeat its a but I've know plenty of people that have had a high heartbeat and it turned out to be a
When I went for the ultrascreen one was 176 and the other was 170, everyone is telling me , we will find out in 6 weeks.

My son Always had a very high heartbeat and like I said..hes all boy.

Yeah, on one visit the heartbeat was 165 and another my last one was 145!!! So really this wives tale doesn't help me.

Girls are "supposed" to have higher heartrates.
This was true for me. First time we heard the heartbeat it was close to 170 and the other 2 times it was in the 160's. And sure enough, we are having a girl.

Kristina had a HR of 175 the first sono, then around 150 the next time around, then 160 the next time....

My baby had a heart rate of 170-something at 9 weeks, 170-something at 12 weeks, and 146 yesterday at ~18 weeks. It is a BOY!

I dont know what I am having but my baby has been all over the place from 135 to 165 depending on whether is moving at the time or possibly sleeping. So I dont think it would be possible to even guess.

At my first appointment, the babies heartbeat was 143. My appointment THIS week, the heartbeat was 162. However, my husband has a very fast resting heartrate and always has had this. So I don't think this old wives tale holds any water.

Weird timing - my doctor literally JUST said to me on Tues (after listening to the heartbeat) to pay absolutely no mind to the rate - it is 100% an old wives' tale.
