the plus/ttc thread made me think
any others out there older & ttc?
my concern is HBP & health of the
child. my mom had me in her
40+....maybe it runs in the
family

Me three. We've been ttc for 7 months.
The dr I just saw said that "old" depends on your perspective. She has patients in their 40's who wish they'd tried at the "young" age of 37.

I felt a little bit better when she said that too me too (I'm 37 as well). Of course, I'm *still* TTC.....so  to us!!

I will be 36 early next month. Truth is I would have much preferred to have been married with kids 10 years ago when I was 25 but it didnt work out that way. I do not wish to first start having children in my 40s (personal choice based on a family history and personal reasons) so we pretty much have to start TTC now. Thats just the way it is.
Am I freaked out about starting at 35? Absolutely. Are there more risks because of my age? Yup. I also work in a field where too much knowledge can really mess with one's head and add even more stress than necessary. But this is the hand that life dealt me and I am much more informed than I would have been as a parent 10 years ago.

I was almost 39 when we decided to TTC. I was sure it was going to be a problem, but it happened fairly quickly for us. They put me in the same category as a 20 year old for Downs
and the pregnancy so far has been great.
I was nervous too, but try not to be! There are a lot of us oldies out there
