Older babies and constipation - TMI
My one year old lately has been very constipated. When she does poop it is only hard little balls. We got back on her bottles so DH thinks she is dehydrated. She is getting about 17-18oz of milk a day and drinks a lot of water so I dont think she is dehydrated but I dont know she is having a hard time going. What can I do to help her?

Eliminate binding foods like bananas and rice. Add more fruits. Gerber makes pureed prunes which helps.

Re: Older babies and constipation - TMI
I would give DD prune juice and that would usually help.
I recently purchased this product Roex Colon Essentials and I give DD one teaspoon a day in her milk and it works great. Sorry for TMI...but she is very regular w/ NO constipation.

Re: Older babies and constipation - TMI
I'm having the same problem w/ Alex, even before she started milk. We give her jarred prunes practically every day and LOADS of fruit, still the same problem! She now gets Benefiber in her am bottle, it helps her go, bit its still little "pellets". She's still going daily (sometimes 2x/day), but I feel your pain!!! Ask your Dr if he/she thinks you should add some Benefiber to her bottle?

Re: Older babies and constipation - TMI
I have already eliminated the bananas and rice ---- the benefiber might be the way to go. I'll call my ped and see what he says. Thanks
