OMG--- Crazy news!
I just came from my 36 week appointment and my doc said that I am 2cm dilated and 90 % effaced! She said I could go into labor tonight, or I could go in a few weeks-- basically to just be ready bc it could happen any time. I am so freaking out bc I am not nearly prepared! Did this happen to anyone, and how long did you go one being effaced to this extent? I know that people can be dilated for a while, but I don't know about effacement.

My bf just had her baby at 38 weeks. Just like you at 36 weeks she was 2 cm, then at 37 weeks she was 3-4 cm. She wound up having a 3 hour labor from start to finish and it was her first baby!!!

I hope Justin gets that car seat put into your car like tonight!!!!! Listen, with the runs youve been having be prepared. I know u wanted to hold off a few more weeks but you are not in control anymore ....LOL.

Yeah-- I was planning on working until 2/27. The doc was like "That's not going to happen!" I still don't believe it though. I don't think it will be so early. It can't -- I am not ready!

At my 36 week appt I was told I was 90, if not 100% effaced and about 1 cm dilated. I went 10 days early.

Sorry to tell you that I was 90% effaced and 2 cm dilated at my 36 week appointment...and stayed that way until 41.5 weeks!...and I had to be induced so no telling how much longer I would have stayed that way!

Really? I guess that could be me too. Did your doc lead you to believe that it would be soon for you? I am so confused about when I want to stop working. I wish I had a crystal ball!

I was 80% effaced and 3 cm at 32 wks. I had DS at 38 wks.

My doc told me the same thing(I wanted to go early since this baby is BIG) and I am still here at almost 39 weeks. You can be at this stage for a LONG time!

I say "try" to make it until break and then that is it. But even that is 10 days away! Ahh! So exciting!

OMG Lauren that's crazy! I have no idea how long people can hold out when effaced. Did they say to stop working? I can't believe my birth twin might be having her baby...ahh! Do you have your furniture and things in the nursery?
