Just found this also on a cnn article earlier this month
Survival seems like a long shot -- but Eko and Locke are under contract. And Cusick is now a series regular. They gotta come out of this alive, if not somewhat -- somehow -- changed. Plus, ABC says Locke will team up with Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and others to try and rescue their comrades.
So who does that leave now?

That's right. I forgot I read somewhere a while back that Claire is not under contract. 
Give Charlie the boot anyway for getting busy with Kate between takes!

I thought there was a big deal about the fact that NONE of them are under contract since the contracts would tell people who would stay and who would go??

I say Eko... he was pretty banged up and not for nothing but I heard he was caught with a DUI or DWI and we know what happens when the Lost people get in trouble with the law... goodbye.
