I know how u feel. My sil signed my nephew in at 16 to the army,
he was getting in trouble...so she says...,
they started changing his room not 24 hours after he was gone,
We just found out he is sent to the worst part of iraq,. He is not yet 18,
he came home to take pics of everyone because he said he doesn't know if he will ever make it back...
nice sister in law huh?
prayers for your friend and my nephew...and everyone else there.

I'm so sorry to hear that. One of my good friends has been deployed twice, and thank G-d, made it home safely. He and his wife are both now getting out of the air force, before being deployed again.
I know how nerve-wracking it is, and from my experience, communication isn't always good, so if you don't hear from your friend, don't assume that something bad has happened (I was nuts for about 6 months).

 , I think we need to also encourage kids to go to college, keep them out of the draft if/when it is enforced. This war S*CKS!!!

so sorry to hear this, but just wanted to let you know that they will NOT put him in the combat theaters, he is too new, they have well seasoned commanders in that line of fire, they don't put the newbies in "high intensity" areas their 1st time out of the gate

I'm sorry!! One of our friends, too. Crap part is, he served his time, came back home, got a great girlfriend, started law school--went on with life. Apparently, you can be called back within 3 years in a time of war; something to that effect. Well, he just got called. He only returned this year!!! So sad, but hey--these kids are true heroes!

DH spent 9 months there and some men in his unit are being recalled currenty. (uSMC)
I am hoping we never receive one of those "welcome back" packages.
If you need to chat FM me. I have been through so much with him in the USMC. I can lend an ear and maybe some advice.
