Re: omg say prayers for london!
you don't think we're more secure now than we were then? I don't really know, 'cause I live in my suffolk county bubble, but I would imagine that it's safer now than it was 9/10/01.
I don't know about being safer since we can't pin point who the terrorists are but I do know that the world in general has become more aware of the whole terrorism issue. I still think we are living in the safest country in the world.

Re: omg say prayers for london!
I just don't know how much safer we are. Just a few days after 911 an undercover reporter got on a plane with scissors was it...
My friend went to florida this year by amtrak, they never checked her bags, nothing.
And whose to say that a terrorist couldn't get on a train with a backpack and look totally normal and blow up a station. He could easily get on from a non popular station in any of the five boroughs, ride it into the city to a popular stop and blow it up. there is no way of stopping them from doing this and yes there signs and announcments that say "if you see something, say something" But if it's someone with a backpack who looks harmless you would say to yourself "he's just going to school"
I don't know.

Re: omg say prayers for london!
This attack was well planned who knows how far back I think it's just coincidence that yesterday they won the olympic bid. It definitely does open up old wounds of 9/11.

One of our LIW/LIF posters lives over there....USUK2004. Let's keep her in our thoughts and prayers until she let us know she and her Dh are safe
Thank you so much Lori. We are both safe and sound
when i had posted this this morning it was just unwrapping. i could not remember who was there but i knew we had someone there! i am very happy to here you and your dh are safe! i hope all that you know are too! and for me too it brings me back to 9/11. but shorty you need not let this hold you back. i traveled in that following feb. and felt very safe. you and all of those who have family going over seas please try not to be scared! that way you are letting them win!
