I don't think the situation is at all funny, that's for sure...but one thread, even two, would suffice. This board is notorious for the 10,000 threads on one topic.

Honestly--it's a big story--tragic, local, many facets to it. The fact that someone, for example, started a new thread to post that she had some "inside" info on the investigation is somewhat useful. There are many topics of conversation that stem from this one horrible event.

Now that was funny!
I just think if someone finds new information they start a new post. I wouldnt normally go to the "original" thread to update a story b/c how would anyone know there is an update if there isnt an "update" posted in the original subject. So......a new one gets started.
I really dont find it all to be a big deal but I know many do.
