OMG...I just got an oil quote...
I think I'm going to throw up 
My current contract is with General for $2.84/gal. My contract expires at the end of the month. I contacted them to see what their current rates are...$4.28/gal cap. I have a 550 gallon tank, that would be $2300 for one delivery and I get about 3 a year.
Luckily the guy told me I'm not scheduled for another delivery until November anyway and before my contract expires at the end of the month I might ask them to fill me up again at $2.84. I hope they'll do it even though I'm on automatic delivery.
This is crazy! I hope the prices go down by next fall/winter!

Great we have General as well and our contract is up this month. We just got filled up so we should be good for the summer. Ill play the quote game in a few months if the price is gigh now. Otherwise I may try the COD game this year.

We have General also and cannot wait till our contract is finished with them. We are locked in at $3.49 which is good for the way oil has been going up as you saw with your estimate. Why dont you try COD or call affordable oil - they are in bellmore

I just got filled up at mulls rate. I wouldn't be scheduled for another delivery until November anyway. I am going to wait it out. I'm sure the prices with go down by winter.

I'm locked at 2.89 until november. if it's that pricey, I'll go without a contract until things calm down

I'd anticipate more than 3 a year...this year was so cold we went through oil like nobodys business...it made me sick to think of spending $600+ a month just to heat my home!
