One of the reasons I have no problem seeing the new movie is that it isn't trying to be the old one. Johnny Depp cannot play the same role as Gene Wilder, and he knows that. This version of the movie is supposed to follow the book more closely than the original movie did, hence "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" vs. "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." I think it's going to be a different interpretation of the story.

I just finished watching it. I have absolutely no desire to see the new one either. I'm not a Johnny Depp fan and I don't think he'll do the movie justice.

Wow! I'm impressed.  Oh, didn't they roll Violet away? Either way, so scary and that's why I don't remember it, I've only seen it like once or twice - the whole movie freaks me out.
