On the look out for a reputable gym (Huntington, Northport, Commack Area). Where do you go?

I will be going gym hunting pretty soon. I'm 4 weeks post c-section delivery and I really for my mental state need to get back into the gym and start feeling like myself again.

In the past I belonged to Lucielle Roberts. I'm not sure if I want to go back there. There's a Golds Gym by my home I might check out.

Where do you go?
What plan do you have/how much?
Do you like it?

I'd really like a gym that holds aerobic or cycling classes.

I go to Chris Gates Tae Kwon Do - however it's only cardio kickboxing. I love it.

My sister used to go to Golds Gym in East Northport / Northport on Larkfield Road and she liked it alot.

The YMCA in Huntington. You can't beat the price or the facilities. It's a great price and no commitment. Plus, they have a pool.

I belong to Synergy in Fort Salonga (on Bread and Cheese Hollow Road) and I love it! I'm not sure how much a regular membership costs b/c I get a student membership (with my College ID) which means I only pay a flat rate of $300 for the entire year. It needs to be paid up front. Once I am no longer eligible for that I'm going to sign up - no matter what the cost b/c the gym is gorgeous, everything is new, it is never crowded - I have never waited for a machine and the hours are good too!

Also, FIL belongs to Gold's in Northport - It is on Larkfield Road and he loves it. I'm not sure how much it is but he has been a member for years.

You could also check out the NYSC that is coming to Nesconset (right by the Nesconset FD and Browns Road). That should be opening really soon and they might have some introductory deals you could take advantage of.

golds was running a 12 week trial membership for $189

i signed up my husband, now i need to go sign myself up! For us it is the closest, and that is a factor

Jennifer Herman helped me (she is there tuesday eves and Sat and Sunday starting at 10AM) and was very nice
