One more assisted hatching question !
As usual, here I am looking everything up on the internet and flooding my brain with information I probably don't need to know...Anyway- For those who have done AH- did your RE put you on a steroid after ER ?....I am reading that you need to be put on a steroid so that the uterus will not react to the treated embryo (some sites also rec. antibiotics)...My RE didnt discuss it with me yet and I figured I would ask about it on my next appt. if he doesnt mention it...Thanks !

I will be on both...medrol(steroid) and doxycycline(antibiotic) My DH is on antibiotic right now.
I wonder if my DH will need to be on them as well....We are still on day 5 of BCP's and will be starting Lupron next week- At what point in your cycle was your DH put on them and when did your RE say you will be starting them ??...Thank you so much !

We did both too with both cycles. The first cycle, I don't remember exactly when we started the antibiotics but it was at some point after I started the Lupron, I think. I can't remember when I took the steroids either but I know i took them.
For this past cycle, we both took the antibiotic when I went for my water sonogram. The RE said that the antibiotic would cover me and DH for my whole cycle. Then we did the steroids after the retrieval

my husband was on the dioxicycline starting the first day I started my stims. because I don't react well to the dioxicycline I was took zpac with the medrol starting the night of my retreival

Thanks for posting. I could not remember why I was going to be taking steroids. sometimes its too much info all too much at once.
But, we are the same as everyone else. DH has been on antibiotics when I started stimming (got to confess he's being really good at taking them, which surprises me). I'll go on anitbiotics and steroids after ER. Same ones as everyone else. Feels good when we actually all have something the same with all these protocols.

i was put on both with and without AH the 3rd time i went in for ER the didn't give me the medrol not sure why i think because of the metformin

Not sure it was because of the metformin. I'm on Met too, and they still had me on the medrol.

Dh and I both had to take antibiotics during the ivf cycle. you have to take them at the same time so that you don't pass anything to each other.

DH is taking antibiotics now, after he gives his donation (at ER) I start taking them. We're not taking them at the same time.

We didn't either. The reason for DH to take them prior to his sample is to make sure he doesn't have any type of infection and the sperm are healthy. The reason why you take them after your ER is to make sure you do not develop an infection after the retreival.
