Re: One more question - sterilizer

I use mine every day, so I say necessary. I am against plastic in microwave, so I wouldn't get a micro one. But, I know lots of people who have it and love it.

I use glass bottles and have a stove top sterilizer pot. If I didn't have this one, I would have gotten the electric/steam one.

Re: One more question - sterilizer

which microwave sterilizer did you all use? I am registered for Avent and Dr. Brown's bottles so I would like to get one that would work with both these bottles. Did you sterilize the bottles before each feeding? For how long did you do this?

Geez, am I annoying yet? Chat Icon

I had this one from BRU ($15) - I used both Advent and Dr Brown's bottles.

ETA: Forgot to answer your other questions... I would wash with hot soapy water and then sterilized the bottles after every feeding until DS was 4 or 5 months old. Then I just washed them and sterilized once a week until he was 7 months. Then I stopped completely.

I sterilize my bottles before every use. I plan on doing this until he is at least 3 months old.

here's what I did. I registered for the Dr Browns bottles (the $49.99 one) and the Avent sterilizer (which came with 4 8 oz bottles).

I use the Dr Browns bottles with the Avent sterilizer. Never needed to try the Avent bottles

Re: One more question - sterilizer

I use a Dr. Brown's sterilizer but before that I used the Avent sterilizer and was able to get 2-3 Dr. Brown's bottles in there. I started out with Avent so that's why I had the Advent sterilizer. Finally, I broke down and bought the dr. browns sterilizer and like it better since it can hold 4 bottles.

DD is 3 months old and I wash the bottles in hot soapy water and then sterilize after each use.

.

I can fit 4 Dr Brown's in the Avent if you use the clips on the bottom and stand them at an angle. It shows you in the instructionsChat Icon

Wow! I never knew that! Even for the tall bottles, not the wide ones?
