one more question about gel manicures!

Can someone please explain the difference in the different types of color gel manicures to me. I feel like there are so many different types. In the nail salon, I've seen OPI, Axxium (or is Axxium the same as OPI?), Shellac, Gelac.....

Which ones need to be filed off, and which just get soaked off? What is the difference b/w these, and which is the best? Any other differences?

I've only had the OPI Axxium done. It's the same thing. I wasn't 100% crazy about it. It's good if you're going away on vacay but I like to have my nails done every week to change my color and clean up my cuticles. Plus you have to soak it and then they scrape it off. It kinda damaged my nails a little after I did it. I am going to get it though around my due date so I don't have to worry about having my nails done. It's worth a try to see if you like it or not.

I've had OPI, Harmony Gelish, and CND Shellac...of those three, the Shellac lasts the best and longest by far (for me)! My current manicure is on for 4 weeks now...probably a week too long because of the growth and some peeling ends, but still way better than a regular manicure after just 3 or 4 days...so worth it! I haven't had problems with my nails getting damaged - but my place just soaks, wipes off, and lightly buffs.
