One more question about play kitchens... trying to decide between 2 of them!

DD will be 16 months when she gets it for Christmas so I want something that will last her a long time. I like the Step2 b/c it's more like a real kitchen but I don't think DD will really be able to enjoy everything on it for a while since she won't be able to reach up high (although she could use a step stool). And with the FP one it's cute, but I hope she doesn't get sick of it too quickly.

What do you recommend? Or any other kitchen you have that your DC loves?

We have a step 2 one (just a different model). It's been 1.5 year since I bought it. It's in perfect condition. DS still loves cooking in it.

I don't have a FP but heard several people not liking it at much or not being that great in quality. I know a few people who bought the FP and ended up buying the Step 2 afterwards.

Hmmm...tough one. Initially I like the Fisher Price one. I like that it changes height and that there's more "counter space" Chat Icon But I like how the other one has lots of realistic open and shut compartments - ie fridge, cupboards, etc. DS is 15 months and loves to open doors and stick things in and hen close them again - HOURS of fun! Honestly I don't think you could go wrong with either. Is space an issue? The Step2 is slightly narrower if that helps at all.

They last a long time so I think you should go with the Step 2 since there are more things for DD to do.

I have a Step 2 one. Different model then your post but similar. I would get that one. My dd got it 2 years ago and still plays with it. My niece (7) and nephew (6) play with it every time they come over.

Yes, we can't get anything too big. It'll probably go in our very small playroom/office.

def. Step 2. We got it for Liam last year and its nice & sturdy and just recently he is playing with it more realistically.

I'd go with the Step 2.

DS just got my niece's hand-me-down play kitchen. She's 6 1/2 and no longer plays with it. She had a FP, similar to the one you posted. The doors always fell off from day-one.

But she did play with it for several years, and was a little sad to give it up at 6 1/2 yo. My SIL couldn't wait to get it out of her living room. LOL.

I like the look of the Step 2 one, and if she's going to have it for the next 5 years, get the better looking one. Chat Icon

Thanks!! I'm going with the step2... just as i'm looking at them I think the step2 will last her a lot longer and it'll take up less space. Target has it for $15 off (thanks littlejoy06)!
