One more question about Washington D.C. - has any been to the Spy Museum?
Is it good for kids (ages 6-11) or will they be bored?

I think they will be bored. There are a few things for kids, but I don't think they'll "get" alot of it.
Since it is so expensive to go there, I wouldn't waste my money going there with kids who won't appreciate everything.
If you are in the area for a few days, there are a ton of cool things to do with kids up in Baltimore. (about a 40 minute drive from DC). There is a GREAT science museum and Port Discovery (which may be a bit too young for an 11 year old). Also the aquarium.
DC has the educational-history stuff for kids and Baltimore has what I think is the fun stuff

I went as an adult and I was kind of bored. It was ok, but NOT worth the money. I would stick with the Mall where you have all of the Smithsonian museums in close vicinity and they are absolutely FREE.

You;d be better off saving the $$ and going to the Native American Museum or the Museum of Customs (or something like that) or Air & Space...all free.
