Only 30.5 weeks and lost a piece of my mucus plug?

TMI Warning!

Went to the bathroom and there was definitely a snot like something there that was about the size of a dime. It wasnt just thick discharge. Of course I was very upset and called the dr. who said that as long as its not bloody, and Im not bleeding or cramping it is ok. If anything else happens to call back.

Isn't 30 weeks way too early for any mucus plug action? I was so worried she was/is (the baby) going to come early I coulnt stop crying. This baby needs to keep cooking! Any1 have anything similar happen?

I wouldn't worry. I sometimes had weird discharge but I lost my mucus plug once I had regular, timeable contractions and then my water broke, right at 38w.

Several factors can cause the mucus plug to fall out, not just dilation. For example, when my friend was pregnant with her first, the baby got herself into a footling breech position sometime in the early 30s weeks and kicked her mucus plug out! The good news is the plug regenerates if it comes out too early.

Nope MP can regenerate. It isn't a true indicator unless there are other signs.

Totally fine. That's why they say losing your MP isn't always a sign of labor, it can form again. I thought I was losing mine and went to the dr. Ended up just being weird discharge. That continued until I gave birth.
