I'm 34 weeks 5 days and just lost my mucus plug....
I lost it with DD and 12 hours later my water broke!
I am a little freaked out right now...
What do you think this means? Am I going into labor very soon?
eta: I happen to have a gyno appt at 11:30 am, so hopefully I'll find out more!
update: no dilating or effacing...she said cervix is a little soft, but that could be because I've already had a child before...I did have low papp-a blood test results in early pregnancy, so maybe I will be going soon? I hate not knowing! thanks for all your responses.

I would call your doc. When I lost my mucus plug my water broke very shortly after. Good luck!

It could mean nothing. I lost mine and it regenrated... a few times! Good luck at your apt and they will probably check you out to see if you are dilating.

 I'm 35w 5d and you just freaked me the hell out.
I think we learned in our class that just because you lose it, especially early, doesn't automatically mean labor because it can regenerate. so you might still have time... good luck at the doctor!! Keep us posted!

I lost mine at 35 weeks with DS1, and just last night with DS2... also about 35 weeks.
It actually regenerated for me and DS1 was born EXACTLY 3 weeks later (to the day).
I wonder if it'll regenerate again this time, or if I'm having a baby soon! 
 I'm sure the Dr will check you out- lots of luck!(and i hope your hospital bag is packed!)

I lost mine on a Wednesday and had DS1 Sunday night. I know people that lost it two weeks before going into labor. My Dr said it’s not that important and not to call him if I lose the mucus plug. What is more important is if my water breaks, I have a slow leak, bleeding (and not just brown spotting) or contractions. But of course, each doctor is different. I’m sure they will give you instructions at your appt today.

i lost mine around that time and ds #2 ended up coming out 4 days late, so with me, it wasn't an indication of impending labor

Oh gosh... I did not realize how far along your were in your pregnancy.
Did your OB put you on bedrest or told you to take it easy?
You just need to hang for another 2+ week.

Ive read (and learned yesterday at a birthing class) that you can lose your mucous plug weeks before actually starting labor. So I wouldnt worry too much! It's not a definite sign that labor is beginning...I think I read it can even regenerate itself.
