OOT Wedding on baby's 1st birthday..WWYD?
One of my best friends in NC is getting married on dd's bday. I have to be there, but I am torn as to whether to bring my kids (they're both invited).
I have to RSVP soon and mil offered to babysit, but we'd be gone the whole weekend and obviously miss her first birthday.
We will have to either fly (no direct flights though) or drive 9 hours...another decision...
Dd will not be able to handle a 9 hour drive and the last time we flew with her it was so hectic and that was only 1 direct flight.

I wasn't in this situation, but one of my friends was. She went to the wedding and her DS stayed home with her mom.

If I were you, I'd make a fun road trip vacation out of it. I would not drive 9 hours straight but maybe do a night in PA, then a night in DC, etc.

I would go and stretch out the weekend and the drive...map out a few nice places to stop and spend a few hours along the way so you kiddos don't go stir crazy.

Same here. My DS ended up having a nasty stomach virus and passing it on to us on his first birthday, so we didn't celebrate it on the day of his birthday anyway.
