Open House
If you have kids in different grades, do you go (with DH/SO) together, or do you split up?
If we stay together, can we go to one class and then have time to visit the other? Will we miss any kind of talk that the teacher gives as a mass instructional for parents?
I haven't done this before....

As a teacher, most parents split up.
If it's an elementary presentation, they usually present for the entire time, so if both of you go to each you will miss some of the presentations.
Unfortunately, my own kids' Open House is the same night as the district in which I work. My DH has no choice but to run between both K classrooms. He asked me, "How am I going to do this?" My response was, single parents have been doing it for years.
Both teachers have been forewarned to look out for the guy who is running in late from a LIRR train and looks like this
