opening presents at party?
DD's 2nd birthday party is Saturday. It's mostly a "kiddie" party. Should she open her friends' gifts at the party? I don't know if we'll have time. Our party's at home but it's only 2 hrs and between games/playing/pizza/cake I don't know if we can do it! Is that rude?

Re: opening presents at party?
I have been to a ton of parties in the seven years since DS1 was born, and nobody has ever opened presents.

Re: opening presents at party?
Growing up we always opened our presents infront of everyone but that doesnt seem to be the norm today.
Usually I open the presents after the party dies down alittle with immediately family.

Re: opening presents at party?
I've been to parties where they do it and parties where they don't.
When I give a gift, I usually spend a lot of time thinking about what to get them and I like to see the face of the person opening it so I am disappointed when they don't open the gifts. However, I know sometimes it is not possible because the party is big, etc.

Re: opening presents at party?
I wouldn't. I think that requires too much sitting for the little ones at the party, and I like to really see what everyone gives.
