I keep it forever.

I seriously do. Like two, three weeks I'm talking. Ragu, prego, Newman's Own, whatever. I've used it too after three weeks and I was fine. So was DH. So was everyone else I fed it to.

I think in reality, not in Jenn's dirty world, you should only keep it a couple of days - three maybe? Apparently you can get salmonella poisoning.

I keep it around for quite a while, too, and we're all still alive over here!

Maybe you could dedicate an ice tray for freezing sauce. This way when you want your daughter to have sauce all you need to do is grab a frozen cube or two .

that's a really good idea! Thanks. I'll trash the one I have but freeze a new jar!

like 2days once my brother and his friend got really sick after eating sauce that had been in the fridge for a few days, so I am VERY cautious about that!

I only used jarred sauce for pizza and we make them a few times a month
