Opinions on a friends DC

Okay, so a good friend of mine had her first child @ 39. Her DC is now almost 16 months.

The child is not heavy, not even chubby. But my friend is claiming she is wearing size 6 diapers and size 24mos in clothes.

At 12 months, the child was wearing 18 month clothing.

I know (as with adult clothing) sizing may vary, but she said all the child's clothing is this big.

Is this common, with clothing and diapers???

Just curious

It's possible. Not every baby runs true to size based on their age.

It's extremely possible. My daughter has been wearing 12 month clothing since she was 6 months, and now at 10 months, she is in 18 month clothing. She is very tall for her age. I always have problems finding clothes for her for this reason. She's a skinny minny, but just so long and lanky.

Re: Opinions on a friends DC

My son is 18 months old.. and in size 6 diapers, he is also in 18-24 month clothing...

What is ironic is he is only 23 lbs and like 31" long... which only places him in like the 10th percentile on the charts.... (meaning he is on the small side)

Honestly- if your friends DS are at these stats and is only 2 months younger than my DS.. sounds like he is just about avg. maybe slightly above...???

(I also want to add- that just because the size 6 says for X amount of weight it dosent mean anything.... My son dosent meet the weight on the size 5 diapers... but because of his little pot belly he needs the bigger size....)

The clothing I can totally see. My DD is in 18-24 months size clothing and she is 11 months old. She's tall and has thunder thighs! Chat Icon

The diapers, well, I want to say a size 6 is big, but who knows.... My 3 year old still wears a Size 6 diaper! But at that age he was in a 5, so yes, its possible. Depends on the brand of diapers and how comfy the mom is with how the baby wears them.

Definately possible. My kids are 16 months apart and are wearing the same size diapers. Chat Icon

My daughter is 25 months and still wears 24 month clothes, 2T are a little long in the legs. She's in a size 4 diaper during the day and 5 at night.

My son is 9 months and wears 12-18 month clothes and size 4 diapers.

totally possible, at that age my son was wearing a size 5 diaper but well on his way to a size 6.

He was also wearing some 24 months clothes.

He'll be 3 next month and wears very few 3t's mostly 4t or 4 and 5's.

Connor is almost 7 months old and has been wearing size 12 months for about 2 months now, and we have 18 month rompers on him now and they're tight from shoulder to crotch. It's definitely possible. Connor isn't really a heavy baby, he's very tall. Chat Icon

ETA: He's also been wearing size 4 diapers for a month now so since he was 5 months old.

Re: Opinions on a friends DC

DD is 50th percentile for length, but kinda low on the weight, and she is occasionally wearing 6 month clothes at 10 months.... Chat Icon We've seen quite a range of size in a particular size of clothing.

My DD is 13 months and wearing 18 mos clothing and in a size 4 diaper. Very possible for this child to be wearing 24 mos and size 6 diapers. My DD is in the 90% for height and weight.
