Opinions on car seats
So which one is better...I have no clue about these things
Safety First Intera
Cosco/Eddie Bauer Summit
Can you give me any information you might have on these please.

I was told the padding around the head is most important and Babies R Us recommended the Britax or the Eddie Bauer.

I have the Britax Marathon(car seat) and the Britax Regent (5 pt harness toddler seat)

We have a Britax in my truck (sorry, no help there), but when we were in Florida we bought a Cosco carseat at a WalMart SUPER cheap for our flight back home (long story-we forgot ours in long term parking back in NY).
Anyway, we now use the Cosco one in my Mom's car & it seems to work ok.

Both those seats are made by Cosco, which, by the looks of the Baby Bargains book I have here (not the most updated one), has a pretty poor safety rating. Many recalls in just a couple of years.

The Evenflo Triump and the Britax are the two safest. They get the same rating and the Evenflo is 1/2 the price.

In the latest version of Baby Bargains, the first one was discontinued, and the second one got a D rating.

COnsumer Reports really likes the Evenflo Triumph.
Evenflo carseats at BRU
Evenflo carseats at Target
I have to take a look, but I think I have a coupon for carseats at BRU that's still good.

We have 2 of the Evenflo Triumph Premiums/Premieres and love them. I'd recommend them for your son. They cost about $140-$150.

Graco Comfort Sport....the top end of their seats will still be in your range and they have pretty cushy padding.

Personally, I would not buy any seats made by Cosco or Eddie Bauer (Cosco with the EB name and higher price) based on what I read in Baby Bargains. I say to go for the Evenflo Triumph or the Alpha Omega. I read that they are both good seats, but reasonably priced.

This is the one I have and we think it's great! Got the same exact ratings on Consumer Reports and it's 1/2 the price of the Britax.
Although, I don't think CR is the be all end all of ratings, it did make me feel better. I have theories about CR, but that's another post.

love love love the triumph. and for 1/2 the price, you can splurge and get the prettier ones. my mom insisted on it.
