Opinions on iPods
I am writing a paper reviewing iPods as an educational tool. I don't own an iPod, and have only played around with my brothers for the purpose of the project.
If you have an iPod, please tell me what you love about it, hate about it, a feature you wish it had, etc.

I am a teacher/librarian/tech specialist and currently in a podcasting workshop. iPods are wonderful for education for doing sound recordings (recording notes) using the iTalk, or creating classroom podcasts..etc.

Hate 'em. I had one and after 14 months it self destructed. It never worked properly in the first place, the battery would say it was charged after being in the charger all night, and once I took it out on my morning commute. The battery sign would go to zero and fall down dead. I wouldn't buy another Apple product because of this, I was so disappointed in it as a product. I bought a Creative Zen after that and it's great. The battery lasts forever, it has a button that allows you to turn the whole thing off...Not an Ipod fan here at all.

I have the Nano. at first I loved it. now, not so much. I hate the software! and I hate that it didn't come with a wall adapter to charge it.
not worth the $ IMO. other brands out there are WAY cheaper.

The paper I am writing is for a Library Science class in media & technology resources. I work in higher ed, and there's been so much talk about podcasting lately that I had to check it out.

don't use it a lot but love it b/c all the music i own is in there. i do not even keep my CDs out anymore. it's a space issue and i love it for that.

As a HS teacher, I have to battle the fact that they are allowed in school, which leads to all kinds of problems. The kids now can record things and pictures on it so they can use it to cheat in class and on tests. The earbuds are so little you don't often see that the kid has it on. Other than that, I can tell you my DH couldn't live without it!

Check out Apples I University-it is a free service for professzors to download podcasts to their students. I work in technology sales to higher ed.

I do not love the fact that our iPOD has no ability to shuffle songs WITH a playlist.
At least not while it is hooked up through the mini.
Otherwise- I'm a big fan. My CD's will last forever- they never get played!

A feature I wish I had?
I have the 30GB iPOD.........
Features I love:
Color screen with the album artwork
That the artist, name of song, composer all show up
The battery lasted on a 600 mile roadtrip on my motorcycle!
Features I wish I had:
I wish I could shuffle a playlist, not ALL the songs. (if this CAN be done & I don't know it , maybe someone can tell me how  )
I wish it were easier to turn on. I fumble with it to get it to turn on & haven't mastered that yet.
