Opinions on Piccolo's in Bellmore
We are gettign ready to plan DS's christening and we were thinking of Piccolo since it is near the church. We have never been there but I did hear some good things...just wanted to check in with all of you for opinions.
Thanks!

Re: Opinions on Piccolo's in Bellmore
My bridal shower was there and it was wonderful. My parents eat there all the time, and we've had several parties there. It would be great for a christening.

Re: Opinions on Piccolo's in Bellmore
Guess I'm the only one who disagrees so far. I've been there twice recently for two bridal showers and the food was horrible. I was very disappointed in the food actually.

I'll join you. I've had 3 experiences there (one private party) and none of them were good. My chicken parm was pink!!! :::blech:::
ETA: Niecey had her son's party at a place in Bellmore (why can't I think of it! ) and had a great experience. I had dinner there twice and it was yummers! Someone will read this and remind me... Trish - washing machine story??

Re: Opinions on Piccolo's in Bellmore
hehe - I had my christening at Toque which is now Lucca. Great food, small place, not cheap, stingy on appetizers but had a good experience. I haven't been there since they switched from Toque to Lucca - so a long time.
The dinner place Kathi mentioned (washing machine) is Matteos.
Kathi - I keep meaning to ask you - where did you have your son's christenings? I am in need of new places soon.
As for Piccolo's - I like it for a quick, casual dinner. I like the pizza but never found the entrees to be outstanding - but never bad either. I heard they do nice showers and stuff there but never been to one. I like Antonettes, Matteos and Cafe Symposio better for Italian food (all in the area).
Are you doing St Barnabus? That's my parish. My baby to be will be christened there and I am starting hunting for restaurants as well.

Oh crap. I confused the two.
Ang - you may want to check out Matteo's. I thought the food there was really good. I've never been to Cafe Symposio but I hear good things. (come to think of it, I have a gift certificate there)
Denise - we had both boys' parties @ Coral House. It was just easier for us. Have you looked into anything yet? How are you feeling, BTW?!
