Re: Opinions on this bed?
Will you be getting the other pieces that go along with it - so we can see it as a set?

Ok - well in that case - I like it - it's just throwing me off that there isn't a sleigh at the foot of the bed. But I think it's nice.

Re: Opinions on this bed?
You need to be sure you can be happy with the platform. It doesn't look like you can use a boxspring?

True! Have you seen this in person?

Re: Opinions on this bed?
I really like the frame. I would just be concered about how comfortable this would be without a box spring

Ditto. I had a sleigh bed, honestly, I wasn't crazy about the footboard - takes up too much room.

Re: Opinions on this bed?
I like the look and think you could easily get matching pieces down the road but my concerns would be:
1. no boxspring
2. the slats on the headboard. I like to read in bed and I could see the top of my head reasting on the slats and not being too comfortable.
I agree with not having a sleigh at the foot. they take up a lot of room, if one of you is tall and making the bed are all more difficult.

Re: Opinions on this bed?
I love the look of the sleigh but we ultimately went with a 4 poster with a headboard.

Re: Opinions on this bed?
I have the same exact bed except mine has the sleigh at the foot of the bed as well. I have the Kincaid version.
Kincaid Furniture
Ethan Allen also makes one. See the attached pic below and/or go to their site, http://www.ethanallen.com/ea/com.ethanallen.ecom.FrameDirectorServlet?top=1&body=1. It comes in cherry as well.

Re: Opinions on this bed?
Is that the Cordovan bed from Overstock? If so, we got it as well as my brother in law. Great bed but the slats were not great (not good quality wood). My husband had to replace the slat but no problem since.
When my BIL ordered the bed, it didn't come with the 2 wooden posts that holds the frame up under the bed or the directions. So he had to wait 1.5 weeks to get the posts. Fortunately, my husband went over and helped his brother make the bed.
e.t.a I joined the O-club when we bought the bed cause it was worth the cost.

Re: Opinions on this bed?
I have a platform bed and love it. I have had it for about 7 years and never noticed a difference without having a box spring. Though next time I get a new bed I know I want to get one of the Westin Hotels Heavenly Beds. They're amazing.

We love the bed other than that. Once the slats were replaced in our case, it is a real nice bed. The wood is good, its the right height, and ample storage room underneath.
