Opinions on winter coat

Im always wearing either black or brown riding boots in the winter with dark jeans. Im liking this puffy winter coat, but not sure if i should order in black (my standby) or maroon (which would go better with the brown boots)... or does black go with both? Ive always tried to keep black and brown separate but maybe that isnt necessary?coat

I'd do the Burgundy, in fact that is the color of my heavy winter puffer. It's a neutral...goes with Black, Brown, Gray, Navy.

I would go with the burgundy, too. I think you'll find it goes with almost everything

Re: Opinions on winter coat

I have this coat! I have it in dark moss (green color). I also fluctuate between black, brown, cognac color boots throughout the winter and I feel it goes with all. But I honestly think most of the colors this jacket comes in would. You could go with basic black...but a lot of the colors or so nice - if you like the burgundy, i say go for it!

For my burgundy coat I wear a dark grey scarf. It looks really pretty.

You can also do light grey, cream (off white), dark green (I used to have an olive green purse that looked really nice with the burgundy coat)

Are those coats that bright in real life? I like Navy, and need a new coat, but that navy looks super bright (as does the burgundy)

I got this coat in navy last year. The navy is not bright at all. I'm not much of a blue person, but I did like this shade alot. The coat itself didn't hold up to this winter, but thats another story.

What happened to it?
I had my eye on this one as a more casual warm coat. No good?

From the day it came in the mail from Macys the hood never stayed secured. I ended up loosing it on a job site in East Harlem on a windy day. Then the inside of the pockets are lined with a fleece like material. Totally disintegrated (like totally fell apart) and all my change, etc would be swimming around the bottom of the coat. Wore it for 3 months and threw it out. I thought the quality was kinda shoddy. I ended up going back and using an old North Face I had from 5 years ago.

I probably got a dud coat...it just didn't last .

YES - i did get it. The color wasnt quite maroon but more purpleish. I was teetering with returning it but then just went with it. The color has grown on me and the fit is good. It is warm but I cant compare it to a very down coat. It does the job!

Thanks! I ordered it in black. I need something long. I only have a long wool dress coat but if it's really cold out, the wool coat doesn't cut it. I needed something heavier.
