Opinions Please...... Do You Agree with ME or DH?
ok. long story short........
every Thursday is our "bar" night. we go to my best friends bar in Park Slope.....
well, she starts at 8pm. (she works at her shop til 7pm)
SO, we usually leave her store with her, and drive with her...... we get there early so we go to this bar Lucky 13 for a drink or two before she goes on at her bar, Royale......
WELL..... DH has to work til 7:30 tomorrow (usually he works til 3:30)
So i said "Ok, well you can just bring a change of clothes and take the F train right there."
He FREAKED out! He said that i should wait for him and go with him. Like totally overreacted.
How i should "wait for your husband"......"
My point is this: Why should i wait for him when its SO much more convienent to get a ride with my friend?!
Its only a 15-20 minute (free) drive rather than a 45 minute train ride i have to pay for.
Plus, i want to go to Lucky 13 beforehand!
i just dont see the big deal. What do you think??

I see your point about saving time, but I don't think it should be a big deal to wait this one time and go together.

i would definitely wait for him and go together.
you'd have the opportunity to talk WITHOUT your friend present, catch up on the day, etc....

I don't see the big deal in going without him - it's not like he'll be there without you (ie, him arriving before you get there)...but if it's THAT important to him, I would just wait for him

It seems like he's upset, because he wants to spend the time with you. While I agree with you that it would be easier for you to go with your friend, I think you should go with DH and spend the time with him. It's not like you NEED to get to the bar on time.

I would tend to want to go alone, but because he asked, I would wait and go with him. I chalk it up to one of those concessions I make because I love him and married him.

this is my take- since HE is the one changing the normal plan- he should just meet you there
it's one night- normally you all go together
I don't think it's a big deal
but if was that upset about it- I wait just wait for him- but if he is anything like my husband- he will pout b/c I didn't do what he wanted- (it is controlling)
I think he is over reating but it's not worth fight over
I see both sides

i asked him this mornign when he left for work "are yhou bringing clothes?" and he said "NO!.... ill come home forst to change"
SO...... since he doesnt want to rise the subway alone for so long i was thinking i'd leave him $$ for a car service as a peace offereing.
good idea?
p.s. ive decided i am DEF going before him now cuz i want to see if tehy are hiring at Lucky 13

It's funny that you feel like he's being controlling - I used to stick to my guns on almost every issue when we disagreed because I felt if I didn't I was giving in and doing just what he wanted and why should he always get his way...as you go on you'll learn that sometimes it's not really worth fighting over and he probably thinks you're being just as controlling for not giving in...there are two sides to every story.
Anyway, I wouldn't leave money for him, I don't think that's the issue at hand (it's not about money) and he might just take it as you being sarcastic.
