Read the packaging on the ones youre using. Some say you can use with FMU some say not to. I know the Clear Blue Digitals you can use FMU.
I used them and i yes i tested twice a day. with FMU and between 2 & 4pm.

I do it once CD 10-11, I try for twice CD 12-14. I usually O around CD 14. I usually do it in the afternoon or after work if its a work day. If I do it twice I do it later on at night.
