Orange County/Hudson Valley Connoisseurs
I am looking for a kid friendly holiday event during/around Christmas week.
We started a tradition last year of taking the children in our lives to DO something together rather than buying them their umpteenth toy...and I'd like to do it near our new house.
we went ice skating at Rock Center last year, so I'd like to do something different this year...
are there any horse draw sleigh rides and such? or any other suggestion that will be memorable for my kiddies? there should be around 8 children.
TIA.

I don't live up there, but I used to work for the Long Island CVB, which is the local I Love NY people. We used to have people email or call us all the time for help with stuff like this. I know - you can google too - but I wanted to share that in my experience these people know about some really cool stuff that your neighbors may not be aware of.

I hear great things about this. It's a little pricey, but if you can swing it this is supposed to be fantastic. Historic Hudson Light show

Re: Orange County/Hudson Valley Connoisseurs
Where in Orange County are you?
I live in the Town of Newburgh(by the Ulster county line)
in Dutchess co ( Poughkepsie/Wapp. Falls area) theres the Holiday Spirit festival at Bowdoin Park. Looks like a huge wonderland of lights and holiday fun...I think DH and I might go this year!
