Orlando week after Xmas
Hi All -
We are going to Orlando week after xmas Dec 27th thru Jan 2nd.
My parents have a time share and one of my best friends lives down there.
My son will only be 2 1/2. The purpose of the trip wasnt to really go to disney because he is still fairly young to really "get it" but since my husband has a mandatory week off that week and we have the time share, we figured why not. I havent been down to visiit my friend in a few years as well so it will be nice.
Of course since we are there, we should just bring him to disney, his admission would at least be free since he's under 3. If you have brought a 2 1/2 year old, how many attractions did they enjoy? Is there a lot for them to do? I was also toying between sea world or animal kingdom. I feel he would love both, but I do not want to do both. Which in your experience was better for such a young age?
Thanks!

Re: Orlando week after Xmas
Hello,
We went to disney this summer with our 2.5 year old, because our in laws treated the whole family to the trip.
She LOVED it. She shocked me and loved the character meet and greets, so definitely fast pass that. She liked the classic rides like small world, Peter Pan, the carousel, etc. Not necessarily the highlight for her, but she liked them. Her favorite part was riding the monorail and busses. She also enjoyed just taking everything in.
I've gone that week, and expect the parks to be packed. Go first thing, and don't feel bad leaving early.
I'm sorry, I would personally boycott sea world so I'm not the best person to answer that part of the question! I do love animal kingdom though!

Re: Orlando week after Xmas
I like 2.5 for Disney: they think everything is real! Be sure you meet Mickey or Minnie (my kids thought the character was the real thing) & be sure to see the electric light parade (this was one of my favorite things as a kid & mine went nuts over it). My DD was that age last time we went. The most memorable part was the jungle cruise. She was so scared & asked the guides if we were going to come back. Guide said without hesitation "I sure hope so". We still laugh about it. She shook! But she did love all the rides: Peter pan, little mermaid, small world, spitting camels, Pirates of carribean... We did so many together! As for sea world vs animal kingdom, we skipped both & just relaxed by the pool for most of the vacation.
