Oscars Cocktail Party ideas!
We're throwing an Oscars cocktail party and I need some new suggestions for appetizers...We're havong about 10 ppl.
Should I also make a main dish, and if so, what?
For apps, I was thinking shrimp cocktail, bacon wrapped smokies, insalata caprese, a charcuterie plate w/cheese, roasted garlic and white bean dip w/homemade pita chips, french onion dip, chips and pretzels. Too boring? Too much? I saw some great premade sandwich platters at Stop and Shop which might be good.
I'm going to make either the Kit Kat cake or the rainbow cookie cake for dessert. We will also have beer, wine, and Oscar-themed cocktails.
Any other suggestions?

I say no main dish- stick with appetizers, but I love the idea of mini-sandwiches or tea sandwiches or cut-up wraps. So maybe that platter you saw would work.

What time are people coming?
Idea for you - you can do a rainbow cake with the kitkats too :) how awesome would that look when you cut it?
