OT: parks for family picnics and bbqs, any recs?
I had no idea where to post this, but since our main concern is toddlers having a good time, I thought to ask here.
We are looking for a place that has picnic tables and allows grilling, we can bring our own grill. maybe 1 hour from NYC. Right now looks like it will be a group of about 30. Half of which are kids under age 10.
So if there is playground near by, that would be wonderful. Well equipped, clean restrooms.
Can anyone recommend a park?

A bunch of my friends and all of our kids go to Hecksher park in Islip for a big picnic. If you go to field 4, you can BBQ, they have a big playground, a baseball field and close to the bathrooms. We are usually about 25 adults and about 15 kids.
