Our 10yr is in 2016....What's your favorite romantic destination/resort?
We are looking for ideas of destinations & resorts
I should add I want to keep the travel closer to the US. So ruling out Tahiti, etc)

Our 10yr is in 2016....What's your favorite romantic destination/resort?
Went to Aruba for our honeymoon and stayed at Bacuti & Tara Inn. It is an adult only resort, very small and geared towards those on their HM or celebrating anniversaries - almost everyone there was one or the other. I would highly recommend it!

We are heading to Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico at the end of the month. I have heard glowing reviews online and in real life. Looks dreamy and very romantic.
I would probably also look into Bali. The Aman resort is also on my list to go but not sure when we would go. Maybe one day...
I hope to go to the Maldives for our 10 year.

When we got married we were booked for Tahiti, but wedding plans changed. So we always said we would do one of those destinations for our 10yr. But we are 1yr away & the 12-19hr travel & the cost, doesn't appeal as much with 2 young kids. So something closer would be better for us. Now to find it....

Our 10yr is in 2016....What's your favorite romantic destination/resort?
Our 10th is this year. We haven't decided what we are going to do, but some places on our list:
-Fairmont Banff Springs in Canada (I have always wanted to go here and it looks so beautiful)
-San Francisco/Napa
-Amangiri Resort in Utah (my parents stayed here and said it was amazing, but we are going to scottsdale with the kids for spring break and I don't think I want to do the desert twice in one year)
-Montreal
I always thought I would want to take all the kids to Hawaii for our 10th, but our youngest will have just turned 2 so I think it needs to wait a few years so that we can all enjoy it.

we had a great time a couple years ago in Jamaica at The Jewel Dunn's River Resort. its an adults only all inclusive. a smaller one, so it didn't feel overcrowded or crazy. food was good, and it was neat because they did things like dinner under the stars one night- where they set up a really nice dinner outside for everybody at the resort- almost like a wedding reception. You could also pay extra to have a private dinner on the beach one night while you were there, too. we stayed i think 4 nights. we didn't go off the resort, but they had trips you could do to Dunn's River Falls, and other places. Also had a spa right there, too if you wanted to do a couple's massage or something....
Our 10 year anniversary is this June, and we really thought about going back there... but DS is only 4, and it will be the first time ever that we're leaving him overnight- so we wanted to stay a little bit closer... so we're going down to Charleston, South Carolina for a few nights. I've never been, but everything i read sounds great! lots of neat boutique hotels down there, close to the beach, you can take horse and carriage rides, good restaurants... haha i'll let you know

We stayed here too on our honeymoon and LOVED it! We are planning on returning for our 10 yr in 2016. But if we decide to bring the kids we may end up at Atlantis in the Bahamas.

If you want that kind of deserted island type feel I would say Belize. You can stay in Palapa huts on the beach. There aren't any huge all inclusive type resorts.
It is absolutely beautiful.
ETA or Talum Mexico.

Not sure if this is too far, but we stayed at a gorgeous hotel in Santorini, Greece back in 2012 called the Andronis Luxury Suites. It's a small boutique hotel with an incredible staff that treats everyone like a celeb. It's in a town called Oia which is famous for gorgeous views and sunsets. Super romantic! (There are a few pics in my "babymoon" album)

our 10th is this May - we have a family wedding in San Diego so we're going to make a trip of it and do Napa/Sonoma and Pebble Beach (for DH) drive down the coast again ........
Of all of the trips we've taken, that has been one of our favorites.

St. Lucia was very romantic. We stayed in Soufriere at a small resort named Stonefield Estate. We had a private villa, plunge pool, and amazing view of gross piton. No TVs in the room. Ladera is another great resort that we visited.

Any particular resort you familiar with in Belize? Never thought of it, & the flight doesn't seem bad.
We were considering Napa. (We're close to Charleston & hoping to do as another getaway, so not for our 10yr)

Napa/Sonoma is a wonderfully romantic time!
As far as a Caribbean trip - the Four Seasons in Nevis was my favorite.
I also love Barbados, in terms of islands, but haven't experienced a resort as nice as the FS in Nevis!

We did Sandals in Antigua for our honeymoon and it was nothing short of amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat if we had the money.

Jade Mountain- St. Lucia
Or if you want to stay in the US- then the Malibu Beach Inn in Malibu, LA. Nothing like having your balcony door open and hearing the waves crashing. It's gorgeous and the service is impeccable. Also, Nobu is next door as well as the Malibu pier.

We have been going to St. Barts often and its extremely romantic, you rent a villa, rent a car, the entire island is french, over 70 restaurants, the beaches are beautiful.

Love St.Thomas & St. John! We went back in 2011, that was our last trip. Had a wonderful time, I'd return again, but want to explore other options.
